Ante and Play

The ‘ante and play’ part of poker three is a bit more complicated and does involve some element of skill on the part of the player. In this game, the player begins by placing a bet on ante. Once cards have been dealt, the player may decide to fold in which case the ante bet is lost. It should be noted, that folding at this stage will lose any payout due from the pair plus game. Otherwise, the player may continue to play ‘ante and play’ and call by placing an additional bet in the same amount as the original ante bet. The next stage is to compare the hands of the player and the dealer.

Winning at Poker Three

The major element that is important to note is that the dealer must qualify by obtaining a queen or higher. In the event that the dealer’s card does not qualify, then the ante bet will bring even money and the play bet will be returned to the player. Following qualification, if the player’s hand beats the dealer’s, then both ante and play bets will win even money. If the dealer beats the player, then both bets lose. In the event of a tie between the player and the dealer, then both bets are returned.
